Caring for Your Dogs Health

Just as we want to remain free of illness, we also want to keep our dogs health free from the debilitating and sometimes fatal conditions that can affect dogs healthy nature.

  • How can we know what is best for our dogs?
  • Can we trust the advice that is given by the pet care givers, Veterinarians?
  • What is the right diet to give them optimum health?
  • Are there any preventative measures that can be taken to stave off these problems?
  • Are vaccines the cure that they claim to be, and how much is enough?

While we are not veterinarians, we feel that proper research is needed for all medical problems, both for the human and canine. This is not to say that the medical professionals do not do their best with the knowledge that they have, but ultimately we have to live with the decisions that are made. It is best to learn as much as possible, both for you and your dogs health. That way you can make an informed decision, and determine if there are other choices that may not be presented to you. If a mistake is made, you or your loved furry wonder is the ones that will suffer the consequences. No one else.

Dogs, like humans have a fantastic immune system. Does it make sense to do what is necessary to keep that system in peak condition? It is only when the immune system breaks down or becomes overwhelmed, that serious illnesses take hold. This can be from poor nutrition, mosquito or tick bites, contact with rabid animals, distemper, etc.

So what should you do? Do learn as much as possible about the conditions that can affect your best friend. Do become proactive in their diet and exercise programs. Do supplement when appropriate. Do vaccinate when suitable, but do not over vaccinate. Do continue visits to the veterinarian.

We will provide solid information to help you in your quest to keep your dog healthy and fit. And always we will keep your pocketbook in mind. Just click on the topics below for extremely useful information.
